Enniskillen
Suits first visits, short stays and anyone who would rather walk to dinner than drive to it.
The town sits on an island between Upper and Lower Lough Erne. Castle Coole is about 5 minutes' drive from the centre, Florence Court about 20 and Belleek about 35. The town centre itself is easy to explore on foot.

Suits couples, golf trips and anyone who wants water views and a spa or resort base rather than a town.
The lakeshore hotels and lodges north-west of Enniskillen are around 15 minutes from the town centre. You will want a car for evenings out and for the Magho Viewpoint drive.

Upper Lough Erne and Crom
Suits anglers, walkers and anyone looking for quiet, sheltered water.
The southern lough around Lisnaskea, Newtownbutler and the Crom estate is wooded and much quieter than the north. Enniskillen is roughly 25 to 30 minutes away, and there is little within walking distance of most stays.

Suits walkers and anyone whose main plan is the boardwalk trail or the show caves.
Staying around Florencecourt, Marlbank or Belcoo puts you within a short drive of the Cuilcagh car park and Marble Arch Caves, and about 20 to 25 minutes from Enniskillen. Options here are mostly rural B&Bs and self-catering, so plan meals ahead.
